There was a recent article by the local paper that was factually incorrect. It said that the current Mayor of Hayden was up for re-election. The Mayor was appointed in April of last year, he was never elected to the position.
The appointed Mayor said in the article that he is proud of tax increases that he was a part of. Really? He also said that "dissolving the Hayden Urban Renewal Agency" would save money for the city but that he didn't want to see it dissolved. Really?
If HURA didn't exist, I bet the City of Hayden wouldn't have needed to run a levy to get money to pay more Sheriff coverage. Currently, tax money from Hayden's Walmart only goes to HURA with none of it going to the City of Hayden.
