"Friends of The People's Pen, we need your help now. No, we aren’t asking for money. We are asking you to stand up for free speech and not let our community be bullied by those who want to stifle debate and information.
Perhaps you have seen The People’s Pen at your local Super 1 or other locations around town more than usual? Recently, we have been working with the Nickel’s Worth on a rack-sharing agreement where we put The People’s Pen on the bottom shelf of the Nickel’s Worth racks. For months this has been going fine. Many more people are finding out about the paper you already cherish.
But strangely, ever since the recent Town Hall incident that got national attention, the Nickel’s Worth offices have been getting frequent calls and e-mails complaining about The People’s Pen. So much so, they are considering cancelling the distribution arrangement.
I’m told they’ve gotten about 40 contacts over the last couple weeks. I can’t say for sure, but this certainly looks like coordinated, synthetic activity designed to intimidate our business partners. Our last issue had been on the racks almost a month with no negative reaction until after that Town Hall.
So, I’m asking you, as a supporter and friend of The People’s Pen, to contact the Nickel’s Worth today and tomorrow and express your support for The People’s Pen. Just let them know how much you appreciate the paper. A short message to email or left on their voice mail is fine.
My hope is we counteract this negativity with an overwhelming show of positivity. We all know that it’s about 20 people that take part in these negative campaigns, but Nickel’s Worth isn’t used to being the target of these agitators. For every 20 negative messages the agitators send, let’s counter with 200 positive messages and clearly show who stands with the general public and small business.
Please contact The Nickel’s Worth as soon as possible, and spread the word to your friends:

Thank you for all your help keeping North Idaho free!
