In our area a lot of the local libraries share books and other resources to enable tax payers to have access to a wider array of materials. That sharing network is called the Cooperative Information Network (CIN). The agreement between all the libraries regarding CIN is up for renewal.
Can you guess how many library boards in the network are appointed vs elected? Can you guess who is upset about the elected board of the Community Library Network wanting the new agreement to be modified? Can you guess who is talking about equity?
When you see an article blaming one group regarding library issues ask your self, is the supporter for the appointed or elected officials?
Consider attending the CIN meeting on July 16th at 10 am at the Coeur d'Alene Public Library. Consider giving public comment that taxpayers of the Community Library Network want an agreement with CIN that is good for appointed and elected library boards.
