City of Coeur d'Alene Code states that "a security agent working on behalf of a third party shall have in his/her possession, at all times while working as a security agent, a copy of the contract providing their authority on behalf of the third party." https://codelibrary.amlegal.com/codes/coeurdaleneid/latest/coeurdalene_id/0-0-0-2113
Am I understanding that Chief White and the CDA City Council want a contract in everyone's pocket when they work security? Does any other city do this? How do they enforce this?
With all the high profile people at the resort and Gozzer, it seems unlikely that this would be enforced regularly, and it would come across as a "papers please" moment.
If I am remembering right, this was put in to city code at the request of Chief White. The same guy who attempted to enforce the city mask mandate in 2020. The same guy who was just fine with CDA Detective Hailey ignoring what state law says about the powers of the county sheriff.
