Bonner CountyWe Need to Hold the Commissioner Accountable

The county as of January 19th is very dysfunctional and does not give Constituents hope that the county will be run effectively.

The website does not have the new commissioners contact information, including phone numbers, emails and photos. Bradshaw did not attend the Commissioner meeting on 1/10/23. Then on 1/17/23 he was late to the meeting and then unable to run the meeting correctly as the chair. He has been in office for 4+ years!

It was very unclear as to how Bradshaw nominated himself to chair & Omodt to vice chair? Omodt then gave an update without having his public comment on the agenda. It was unclear of what elected officials would be at his proposed new meeting and when they would be held. As well as unclear how such a meeting is legal with Idaho’s open meeting laws.

The proposed 2023 budget for the Commissioner salaries including benefits equals a whopping $564,108. The total proposed budget fiscal for 2023 is $81,133,014 . Why would we have a commissioner with these kind of financial responsibilities who can not be bothered to attend let alone properly run a Commissioner meeting.

Maybe it is time for the good ole boys club to take a back seat to competent leadership.

Voting is not enough we need to hold the commissioner accountable. Please attend the Commissioner meetings in person, via zoom or on YouTube. I appeal to you to hold each individual commissioner accountable for there jobs good, bad or ugly.

There may be a light at the end of the tunnel with Commissioner Williams striving for transparency.

Thank you,

James Maverick

Boomer County is the county just north of Kootenai County. Sandpoint, Clark Fork, Sagle, and Priest River are in that county.
