Attempted Censure of Bonner County Commissioner Williams

Written by Bonner County Commissioner Williams

"Scott Herndon presented a resolution to censure me on May 21, 2025, just hours before the day of a central committee meeting.

Scott Herndon neither requested, argued, nor supported allowing me to speak to the FALSE narratives in his resolution. The Republican Party Platform states. “We believe the protection of individual rights is upheld when personal responsibility for behavior is exercised.” BCRCC must comply with the platform and so must I. There is no evidence or allegation that I have not followed the platform.

Scott Herndon ensured that Omodt and Bradshaw were afforded a 30-day notice to appear before the BRCC to do exactly what the platform requires. I was not afforded the same opportunity. Why?

Scott Herndon was silent during the prior board. If I am wrong, can someone forward me the resolution(S) that he crafted? From court-issued restraining orders to citizens' arrests, to denying public comment. Although not all-inclusive, there is a lot to choose from. Is silence a form of compliance and agreement?

Scott Herndon provides his arguments for an open meeting law violation throughout the resolution, citing that the agenda change was a violation. He further argued his position on Minor Land Divisions.

Scott Herndon was aware that his position on the way in which the agenda was amended was not an open meeting law violation. In fact, he changed his own agenda the same way when he presented his resolution to select members, hours in advance of the meeting."
