Taxpayer Money to Daycares in 83854
Using the Transparent Idaho webpage and the Idaho Child Care Program webpage - I made a spreadsheet of all the licensed daycares in 83854 (Post Falls). According to the records from 2020 to 2024 - $27,841,865.08 in Trustee and Benefit Payments from the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare were paid out. That is an average of $5.5 million a year. Idaho Child Care
"The Idaho Child Care Program (ICCP)provides assistance to low income families to help pay child care costs. The purpose of the program is to support families working toward or maintaining employment." Is this the proper role of government? On one hand I agree that helping low income people get employment is a good thing. On the other hand it looks like the government is subsidizing private industry. What are your thoughts on this?
